How to remove mold from clothes that need to be dry-cleaned?
bmwrock asked:
Hi I think my apartment has been infected with mold and I am trying to move all the clothes back to my family's house. Would the mold be carried back to their house and start growing again?

Second, I have at least a couple of hundred of clothes that can't be handwashed. What should I do? Thanks
also i haven't seen any black spots or stains on the clothes yet but i wanna move them before they start to grow

mold is a growth that needs to be eradicated and yes the mold will stay and continue to grow unless treated. So a good wash then the important thing is the drying process as mold arrives at 70% and damp at 100%.
Dry cleaning will do but you can spray your clothing with a dettol type spray.

If you actually see mold on the clothes, it's probably best to toss them but if not, then throwing them through the wash is a good idea. Try a vinegar solution as this has been known to kill mold.
You definitely want to wash them before you bring them to your families home as the mold can spread and then your family will have a mold problem. Wash them and if they don't smell moldy after they have dried I think you will be OK.
